Me
My name is Alex Pickett. I am an unemployed journalist from St. Petersburg, Florida.
I’ve written for the New Haven Advocate, the Chandler Independent (a small community newspaper just outside of Phoenix) and Creative Loafing, Tampa Bay’s alternative weekly.
(Feel free to download my resume in Word here.)
As a reporter, I investigated zoos, police departments and homelessness. I have written award-winning features on a prisoner serving a life sentence and the effects of gentrification on a neighborhood. I’ve also hitchhiked the state of Florida, been waterboarded and covered midget wrestling. I take my own photos, edit audio and write short stories.
Please hire me.
